Center information
ChengChing Lake is situated on the boundary of Kaohsiung City and county, it used to be a tributary of Caogong Canal named Dapi, and was originally used for irrigation of fields. To meet the demands of industrial water use, it was modified and an industrial water treatment plant was set up, which because the current greater Kaohsiung area water treatment plant. As Chengching Lake is know for its beautiful landscape, the government turned it into a scenic area in September, 1950. There are eight sceneries at Chengcing Lake: Kansu plum in spring; fishing for the moon on the bent bridge; lotus viewing from the willowy shores; viewing the sea from the hilltop; sounds of animals from the deep forests; pleasant atmosphere of the lake and hill; three pavilions tour; gold pours from Pangdao. To boost tourism development, the Chengching Youth Activity Center, Jaohsiung Grand hotel, golf course, baseball stadium, are all located in the vincinity. It is a great destination that combines entertainment, sports, relaxation, tourism, and study/training functions.
Center features
The Center is located next to Chengching Lake, and Chengching Lake baseball field can be seen in the distance from the square. It takes approximately seven minute by foot to reach the baseball field. The area is surrounded by queen crapemyrtle and other trees and plants. When it is the flowering season, the trees are covered in purple flowers, creating a beautiful sight. Green grass grows in the square, and is a great venue for individual or groups to enjoy European style lakeside dinner or to engage in group activities.
The residential area is divided into two building. The front building has two floors and is primarily used for group lodging, while the back building has double rooms. The meeting areas are located at the right side of the front building and the back building’s first floor. The meeting area can function as a multi-functional exhibition and conference venue.
【Target groups】
This center, in accordance with the Youth Activity Center residential facility management and safety maintenance regulations, order no. 1030000094B promulgated by the Taiwan youth education department of the Ministry of Education, is established and managed on a non-profit basis, and provide lodging for the following groups of people:
1. Student with valid document of enrollment
2. Adults who are below forty years old.
3. Any individual who are attending activities held by government agencies, schools, NGOs in relation to public welfare, education, service and training, health or culture.
4. Any staff or volunteer with the document of proof issued by the China Youth Corp.
5. Teachers or relatives accompany individuals that meet the first two criteria, which shall not exceed four people.
